The EV/Hybrid Family of Ford Vehicles

Electrified Vehicles Leading the Way

Since 2004, Ford has led the way with its lineup of hybrid and fully-electric vehicles. The first hybrid vehicle was the iconic Escape, which continues to be available with a mild-hybrid powertrain. The entire lineup includes comfortable, well-equipped, and fun-to-drive vehicles with exceptional fuel economy and zero or low emissions. In Clermont, Florida, Ford of Clermont carries the lineup of Ford EVs and offers them with the latest offers and incentives.

Fully-Electric Battery-Electric Vehicles

The collection of fully-electric battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) includes the Ford Mustang Mach-E and the Ford F-150 Lightning. These vehicles have electric motors powered by lithium-ion battery packs, and they do not use gasoline. Thanks to innovative engineering, they charge from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes or less at DC fast-charging stations.

The BEV Ford vehicles never need oil changes, and they release zero emissions. The miles of range in the 2023 Mustang Mach-E varies based on the trim level and battery configuration. For example, the entry-level 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 Edition with an extended-range battery has an EPA-estimated range of 312 miles on a full charge, while the Mach-E with a standard battery gets 247 miles of range. With a single electric motor, the Ford Mach-E has rear-wheel drive, while those with two motors have all-wheel drive.

The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning delivers 462 horsepower when outfitted with two electric motors and a 98-kWh battery. A larger 131-kWh battery is available, and it pushes the horsepower to 580. The smaller battery pack gets 240 miles of range, while the larger model gets between 300 and 320 miles depending on the trim.

Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles

The Ford EV/Hybrid family also includes plug-in and mild-hybrid vehicles. A plug-in hybrid has a powertrain with an electric motor, battery pack, and internal-combustion engine. The battery pack gets its power from an exterior charging station. The only PHEV in the Ford of Clermont lineup is the 2023 Ford Escape Hybrid PHEV. The powertrain includes a 2.5-liter Atkinson-Cycle inline-four engine with front-wheel drive. The 14.4-kWh battery delivers about 37 miles of all-electric range. The gas-powered engine takes over when the battery is exhausted.

Ford also offers mild-hybrid vehicles like the Explorer SUV, Maverick pick-up truck, and Escape. These low-emissions Ford hybrid vehicles are primarily powered by an internal-combustion engine assisted by an electric motor. Rather than using an exterior power source to charge the battery, the electric motor with regenerative braking do the job.
